Well tonight we bring that dream perilously close to realisation. \nThis is your chance to inflict your musical taste on your Clubmates\, and have theirs inflicted on you. \nWilliam writes: \nWe have done people’s favorite books\, poetry and objects so on 23 June we are going to try a COPSE version of Desert Island Discs. Should you wish to participate\, you will need to select two of your favorite music pieces. They can be popular\, classical\, jazz or whatever your preference is. The idea is to give a brief talk to explain why you like the particular piece and if it has any personal connection to you before playing it\,  We will stream one piece and if time allows stream both choices. To help with planning the evening\, should you wish to participate please email me with the name of the song(s) music giving the name of the piece and the artist.  \nIt would be helpful if you could confirm your choices on or before Sunday 21 June.  \nTo be clear\, we’ll find videos of the trracks wherever possible\, otherwise it will be the best that Spotify can deliver.

Exhibited\, with their fascinating histories\, at our last OBJECTivity evening. \nThis is another opportunity to show off your fine china\, family heirlooms or just\, well\, bits of rock! \nHere are Ireen’s words of enticement again: \nDear Interesting People\, \nThat covers all COPSErs\, one way or another!  We’re such a mixed bunch and with so many different experiences.  Resulting from these\, we must have a wide range of items that would tell a tale of family\, travels\, mysteries\, or hobbies.  This week at our hall objects will be the activity we shall share.   \nPlease bring along anything that you could explain a little about.  This may be something of its history or its sentimental or monetary value.  It might be something amusing or perhaps be an object so unusual that others may not even know what it is – or maybe you don’t know yourself but another Member might be able to identify it for you!   \nPlease bring one to three objects to entertain us and pass them to me at the start of our evening.  If you have extras\, these could also be brought and kept aside\, in case time allows us to explore a few more things.  (Of course\, audience required to enjoy the collection so please come along\, even if you have no objects this time.)  However\, this weekend might afford time for many to find something! \nTeas and coffees between 7.45pm and 8.00pm. \nRegards\, \nIreen Best (07968 035522)
