DESCRIPTION:Explore the surprising history of one of the greatest of British inventions\, the post – the beginnings of the earliest social network. Plus ride the underground mail rail and a meal out in London. \nMeet at East Croydon Station main ticket hall at 11:30 -11:40 am on Saturday morning\, ready to go to London Bridge. We aim to catch a train at 11:48 or 11:51. \nFrom London Bridge\, we will walk to the Museum\, stopping for a couple of things to see along the way. The distance is just about 2.5 miles\, and with stops might take a couple of hours. You will probably see these things along the way: \n\n– something that happens in London about 1000 times a year\, which you might never have seen.\n– 4000 daffodils in a square\n– an unusual view of London from a rooftop.\n\nBring your ticket for the Post Museum and Mail Rail ride if you have one: if you don’t\, you can pay on the door for the museum\, though the Mail Rail ride\, which is just one part of the visit\, is fully booked.

Walk along the Nickey Trail from Harpenden and then onto St Albans down the Ver Colne Walk. \nAt St Albans\, we can either spend some time in St Albans or continue onto Radlett. \nThe main walk is 8 miles\, the extension to Radlett is another 6 to 7 miles. \nMeet at East Croydon Station at 8:50 for the 09:03 train to London and then a train from St Pancras.

SUMMARY:National Gallery Visit
DESCRIPTION:An afternoon visiting the National Gallery in London. Preceeding this\, there is an optional lunchtime swim “with a difference” at UCL pool. A ‘swim with a difference’ simply means that no costumes are worn otherwise it’s a usual full length pool with a proper deep end and some lanes for more serious swimmers\, life guards and rather good cubicle showers\, with a choice of hot or lukewarm water. You still need to bring a towel please. Cost is £10.00\, but if you pay £15.00 you get a card for a ‘free’ entry next time you go.

DESCRIPTION:A 4 hour linear walk from Seaford to Eastbourne and then a bus back to Seaford. One pub en route in Birling Gap. Bring snacks and drinks. \nMeet in East Croydon to depart for Seaford at 9:30am by car\, around 70 minutes journey. A six day\, self-catering stay based in Del Mar Court close St Peters Port.  \nDel Mar Court makes a perfect base for a walking holiday\, the coastal path is only a few minutes walk away. This system of pedestrian paths stretch along the spectacular east\, south and west coasts of Guernsey with scenery ranging from the rugged south coast cliffs to the dune-backed beaches of the west coast. \nTravel there by air or ferry.
