SUMMARY:Beatles Themed Walk
DESCRIPTION:The walk starts where they really started in 1962 ie the Abbey Road Studios near St Johns Wood tube station and end where they last performed in 1969 on the roof of the Apple HQ which is near Piccadilly Circus.\n\n\nIn between we’ll visit places where they lived\, worked  and played in the Swinging Sixties – oh and where some of them got arrested!\n\n\nThe walk will last approximately 3 hours including a coffee/toilet break at the cafe on Marylebone station where the Fab Four took a break while filming a Hard Days Night in 1964.\n\n\nFollowed by a a picnic lunch in St James Park (weather permitted).\n\n\nMeet at East Croydon station at 10.30 with view to catching the 10.41 to Victoria and from there we will proceed by tube to St Johns Wood probably changing at Green Park.

DESCRIPTION:An outing to the Chiltern Hills\, north of London\, with a walk of varied terrain from Tring. \n  \nAn easy journey from East Croydon using the Milton Keynes train. \n  \nMeet at 8.55 to catch the 9.10 train to Tring\, arr 10.38. This train calls at all stations to Clapham Junction (9.40) so if you miss it at East Croydon\, catch a fast train at 9.24 to Clapham Junc then go to platform 17. \n  \nAnyone in central London could go from Euston at 9.54 to Watford\, changing there for the Tring train at 10.21. \n  \nWe will follows the Ridgeway path to Ivinghoe Beacon. Then back through the Ashridge Estate\, about nine miles long. \n  \n

DESCRIPTION:This is part of the Open Garden Festival Run by St Christopher Hospice to raise money for the Hospice. The entry fee is £2.50\n\n\nThis is a Unique suburban garden with many unforgettable curios.\n\n\nFeaturing a miniature TARDIS\, a G scale American garden railway including a circus and fire train and a small line where visitors of all ages can have a go at driving a train! Visit the fascinating vintage telephone museum with over 90 old phones dating back to the early 1900s\, switchboards and working telephone exchanges. Connect calls\, listen to the speaking clock and reminisce with “Dial-A-Disc”.\n\n\nArts\, crafts and plants will be on sale in the front garden as well as refreshments. No dogs allowed except guide dogs.\n\n\nIt is open from 2 to 6.\n\n\n\nMeet at the 119 Bus Stop opposite East Croydon Station (by the former NLA Tower near Sainsbury’s) at 13.45 to get the 13.55 bus to Hayes.\n\n\nAlternatively you can make your own way. If you get the bus you have to get off at Hayes George Lane and then walk for 4 minutes to the garden
