Visit to London Docklands Museum & Meal

Sunday 3rd February

Meet East Croydon 9.20am for the 9.40 train to London Bridge, then the Tube to Canary Wharf followed by a 15 minute pleasant water ways walk to the Museum. Free entry to the museum, the galleries include the Roman era & all displays are very well presented. Late lunch at Wetherspoons in the adjoining customs house building  before recommencing the Museum experience. Guided tours are available.

Visit to the Battle of Britain Bunkers, Uxbridge

Saturday 9th February

Meet at Victoria station (concourse beside Gatwick Express platform area 13&14) at 10.30 and then travel by underground. We aim to join  the 12.30 tour and have lunch afterwards before undertaking a stroll around the visitor centre. There are combined entrance tickets @ £7.00 for the bunker tour and visitor centre. Or for the visitor centre only @ £4.00.

Walk around the City of London to see the new developments, 4 miles

Sunday 24th February

Meet from 10.10am at East Croydon station to get the 10.34am Thameslink train which arrive at Blackfriars at 10.54am.   We will then follow a City of London leaflet called "Design of the times" to look at thirty new buildings going clockwise from St Paul’s Cathedral to include the Gherkin, Natwest tower The Cheesegrater, The Scalpel, Lloyd's building plus the Walkie Talkie.   Hopefully there will be a pub stop at a very prestigious Wetherspoons (the Crosse Keys)

Biggin Hill Memorial Museum and RAF St Georges Chapel

Saturday 2nd March

Visit the museum, St George's Chapel and garden of remembrance. Visit takes around 2 /3 hours. Museum admission is £8.50 and chapel is free.   There is cafe/restaurant in museum. After the visit there is an option to go for a meal at the Old Jail or White Hart pubs closely associated with Biggin Hill.

Walking tour of Croydon Architecture. Meet at COPSE hall from 7pm for the start of the walk at 7:30pm Walk could take between 90minutes at two hours, terminating at Matthews Yard for a drink. Beatles Themed Walk

Sunday 14th July

The walk starts where they really started in 1962 ie the Abbey Road Studios near St Johns Wood tube station and end where they last performed in 1969 on the roof of the Apple HQ which is near Piccadilly Circus. In between we’ll visit places where they lived, worked  and played in the Swinging Sixties - oh and where some of them got arrested! Rustic Sunday, Rural Life Centre plus walk
