SUMMARY:Beatles Themed Walk
DESCRIPTION:The walk starts where they really started in 1962 ie the Abbey Road Studios near St Johns Wood tube station and end where they last performed in 1969 on the roof of the Apple HQ which is near Piccadilly Circus.\n\n\nIn between we’ll visit places where they lived\, worked  and played in the Swinging Sixties – oh and where some of them got arrested!\n\n\nThe walk will last approximately 3 hours including a coffee/toilet break at the cafe on Marylebone station where the Fab Four took a break while filming a Hard Days Night in 1964.\n\n\nFollowed by a a picnic lunch in St James Park (weather permitted).\n\n\nMeet at East Croydon station at 10.30 with view to catching the 10.41 to Victoria and from there we will proceed by tube to St Johns Wood probably changing at Green Park.

SUMMARY:Walk to the Chiltern Hills
DESCRIPTION:An outing to the Chiltern Hills\, north of London\, with a walk of varied terrain from Tring. \n  \nAn easy journey from East Croydon using the Milton Keynes train. \n  \nMeet at 8.55 to catch the 9.10 train to Tring\, arr 10.38. This train calls at all stations to Clapham Junction (9.40) so if you miss it at East Croydon\, catch a fast train at 9.24 to Clapham Junc then go to platform 17. \n  \nAnyone in central London could go from Euston at 9.54 to Watford\, changing there for the Tring train at 10.21. \n  \nWe will follows the Ridgeway path to Ivinghoe Beacon. Then back through the Ashridge Estate\, about nine miles long. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Rustic Sunday\, Rural Life Centre plus walk
DESCRIPTION:Visit the Rural Life Centre (“the largest countryside museum in the south of England”) to discover about many countryside crafts and traditions.  The event\, “Rustic Sunday”\, hosts a variety of expert demonstrators\, who will share their knowledge and skills of some past and some enduring rural trades and activities\, with a range of exhibits for us to study.  There will be a jazz band playing\, plus an iron furnace and woodyard in action. \n  \nMeet Bob at East Croydon Station at 9.35 to catch the 09:51 train which arrives at Farnham at 11:16 – and then walk about four miles to the centre. \n  \nThere will be different food outlets at the museum or bring your own packed lunches. \n  \nFurther details about the Centre and the day can be found here:  https://rural-life.org.uk/ \n  \n(Entry: Adult £11\, Concessions £10\, Children 4 – 16 yrs £8)
