SUMMARY:Trip to Ireland
DESCRIPTION:I’ve had a great response for the trip and unfortunately I can’t take any more people. \nIf you want to come and are prepared to arrange your own accommodation etc then I can give you information of where we are staying. \nLinda \n\nACCOMMODATION \nhttps://www.islandview.ie/index.html \nIsland View is located in the fishing village of Roundstone\, Connemara\, County Galway. This will accommodate about 12 of us (two to a room)  and through the same owners I can book a 3 x bed-roomed cottage in the village of Roundstone\, called Bakery Cottage. Who goes where will depend on the final male/female split. \nAll rooms have en-suite facilities and we would be self-catering. \nTherefore I am capping this trip at 15 people. \nTRAVEL \nFly to Knock Airport. \nThere is a late morning flight by Aer Lingus departs 11.00 from Heathrow arrives Knock at 12.30. \nThe transfer time to the accommodation is 2hrs 20mins\, or longer if you go by Bus. \nWe are planning to hire 5 seater cars (the cars work out cheaper than mini-buses) to collect at the airport and for use throughout the week.  This also means that with 3 cars and 3 drivers the group can split up to go to different places of interest. \nThe flight back departs about 1pm from Knock Airport. \nThere are alternative flights from different airports and we are still looking at the options. I’ll confirm the preferred flights once I have final numbers and deposits are paid. \nWHAT IS THERE TO DO? \nRoundstone is picturesque fishing village\, with shops\, amenities\, pubs\, cafes\, restaurants and a grand hotel and it is right on the scenic west coast.  There are plenty of coastal and woodland walks and Errisberg mountain whose summit can be reached by a short walk!  Three kilometers away are the sandy beaches of Gurteen Bay and Dog’s Bay. \nThere are various islands that can be visited by ferry such as Inishbofin and the Arran Islands.  The City of Galway can be reached in about an hour by car or a bit longer by bus. Dublin can be reached in about 3 hours by train from Galway. \nWith hire cars we can explore further afield too. \nCOSTS \nAccommodation:  Approx        £269 p.p \nFlights                  Allow up to  £200 return \nCar Hire               Allow up to  £100 p.p           Total cost excluding food is approx. £570. \n

SUMMARY:Trip to Amsterdam
DESCRIPTION:After the success of the Berlin Trip last year we’re off to foreign parts again! \n \nThis Amsterdam trip has got off the ground.  (Cue joke about the ground in the Netherlands not being very high – can’t think of one.)  It’s not too late to join in. \nWe have nine booked to travel on Eurostar.  (Out Wed 30 April\, return Tues 6 May – two extending a few more days.  Direct train London / Amsterdam approx. 4hr 40min.  All discounts that me and another copser can access are used but standard fares range widely and are worth a look.) \nMost are currently reserved at a “Stayokay” hostel.  Some spaces are available in this initial booking (bunks in same sex\, COPSE-only rooms with bathroom: £48 to £53 per person per night depending on number; breakfast extra; 12% tourist tax extra).  A few are seeking hotel accommodation nearby.  I can provide details. \nEmail me if interested and we’ll see what we can do. \nActivities\nThere are of course loads of quaint canal side scenes\, world renown art galleries (Rijksmuseum\, Van Gogh Musuem)\, Anne Frank house\, city and Dutch culture.  I have never been so open to recommendations.   I also propose that we make a day trip to see Arnhem (50 mins / 1hr by train) to see what Croydon’s twin town is like and visit the museum about the allied attempt to capture the Rhine bridge https://www.airbornemuseum.nl/en/airborne-at-the-bridge  There is also scenic heathland in the vicinity of Arnhem that would be pleasant to walk in or cycle through. \nAnd we shall aim to have a tulip field tour / trip. \nRegards \nAndrew \n

SUMMARY:London Loop Walk
DESCRIPTION:Hi All\, continuing from where we left off at West Drayton\, about 8-9 miles. Taking us into Berkshire and to ‘nine o’clock’ on the imaginary clock-face of the LOOP\, this 150 mile route around London following green spaces\, rivers\, a canal\, and occasional suburban streets.\n\nThis is the most watery part of the LOOP (perhaps in more ways than one!). We follow the River Colne and the Grand Union Canal for much of the way as they make their way through and between lakes. We cross an aqueduct where the Canal goes over a river (very strange) and go under the new HS2 rail viaduct\, which is quite a sight/site (so I am reliably told). There will no doubt be many boats of character to see on the Grand Union (we may even bump into Robbie Cummins on his Naughty Lass and end up on the telly!?). Oh and there’ll be some Locks\, as you’d expect on a canal\, one with an 11ft drop. There are a couple of pubs along the way and a likely possible tea shop (but probably no pole dancing this time!).\n\nBut bring some drink and food along just in case\, and be prepared for some mud in places and on the towpath.\n\nIt will be possible to leave/join about half way at Uxbridge if wished\, and also a possibility to stop at Widewater Lock\, a mile and a half short of West Harefield for a bus back to Uxbridge if wished.\n\nBut…We may well get as far as West Harefield (near Harefield Hospital) where we catch a bus to Uxbridge Underground station and come back into a central London Terminal of choice to get back to East Croydon\, etc.\n\nMeet West Drayton Rail Stn in the main foyer (split into two adjoining parts\, but either part will do) at 10.45am\, ready to depart by or before 11am. \n\nA Travelcard Zones 1-6 is good for to-day at £11.00 with a discount card.\n\nA recommended route for you is: 09.07 from East Croydon (via Victoria\, tube to Paddington\, then Elizabeth Line to West Drayton). But do your own research\, as the advert says\n\nIf you encounter any problems getting to the start be sure to phone me\, and we can wait for the next arrival at 11.07am\, but only if really necessary please.\n\nIf a general consensus among yourselves\, prefers a half an hour later start\, then I am open to this BUT OTHERWISE we stick to the above.\n\nPaul 07968 223589

SUMMARY:Geeks Transport Tour of London 2025
DESCRIPTION:Here are details about the event on Sunday 2 March – Geeks Transport Tour of London 2025.   Meeting times further below.  (Basically 9.15am East Croydon.) \nThis year’s trundle round (part of ) London’s transport system to view new and historic transport and development related attractions features a trambus\, a glulam roof\, a station box\, an award wining audio visual experience\, step free access (a lift) seamlessly integrated within a Grade II listed station\, restored and celebrated heritage and more besides.  Likely even a Guyanese kitchen – Dionne note. \nPlaces include Beckenham Road\, Crystal Palace\, Surrey Quays\, Elephant & Castle\, the Outernet (what’s that?)\, Paddington\, Barons Court\, Hanwell and Victoria.  And others.  Not necessarily in that order and subject to variation. \nGeeks will hardly be able to contain their excitement\, so I am proposing an early (for me) start of: \nEast Croydon tramstop 09:15am   (to catch 09:27am tram towards Beckenham Junction.   So be prompt.) \nor join later: \nboard tram at Addiscombe at 09:34am \nalight / meet at Beckenham Road tramstop at 09:45am   (Bob Clare note) \nCrystal Place bus station 10:10am \nCrystal Palace rail station approx. 10.45am \nWe will incorporate refreshment breaks where we can.  We will likely have a lunch break at Elephant & Castle (either Kaieteur Kitchen Original  or Elephant & Castle – Mercato Metropolitano \nAnd end at Market Halls Victoria | Restaurant & Bar In London Victoria \nCheers \nAndrew

SUMMARY:Pepys Walk
DESCRIPTION:The three Pepys Walks we’ve done so far have been popular\, so we’re back for Episode IV – along the river to Greenwich\n\n\nWhere?\nAgain we’ll be following the 17th Century footsteps of Samuel Pepys\, this time leaving the City and Court to explore his naval connections. Again I’ll be your amateur guide\, book in hand\, pointing out the connections to Pepys on the way. No doubt other COPSErs will continue to persist in offering their own observations! \nThis will be an easy 5-6 hour walk along pavements (boots not required) for about 8.5 miles\, ending with an optional beer or two at a historic tavern that also serves food. Leaving opportunities will be more restricted than central London\, but there are connections to transport at Bermondsey (Jubilee line)\, Rotherhithe (Windrush line) and no doubt a selection of bus routes. \nWho was Pepys?\n \nA man who lived through the upheavals of the Civil War\, the execution of Charles I\, the reign of Cromwell and the subsequent restoration of the Monarchy with Charles II. Most significantly for us\, from 1660 to 1669 he wrote a daily diary describing events high and low. He was a man on the rise with connections to politics and royalty\, but determined to enjoy life with visits to taverns and theatres\, domestic life with his French wife\, and furtive dalliances with a variety of disreputable ladies. \nGetting there\nI’ll be catching the 11.09 East Croydon Platform 1 to London Bridge\, then walking a mile or so across London Bridge to Seething Lane\, where we start the walk proper. \nJoining opportunities: \n\n\n\n\n\nEast Croydon station from 10.55\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/dock.jars.folds\n\n\n\n\nAt London Bridge station near the entrance to Platform 5\, from our scheduled arrival time about 11.30\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/garage.exact.improving\n\n\n\n\nOutside St Olaf’s church\, Seething Lane\, Junction of Hart Street / Crutched Friars\,  where we start the walk\, from our expected arrival time about 12.00\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/dime.waddled.owner\n\n\n\n  \nCall me (number below) if any difficulty joining up. \nFinishing\nWe finish at Greenwich\, where there are some interesting pubs and a variety of ways to get home! \nLinks\nPepys’s diary for this day 363 years ago: https://www.pepysdiary.com/ \nGeneral info on Pepys: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Samuel_Pepys \nContact\nKen on 07921 258876 \n\nWhat3Words\nExplanation is here. DESCRIPTION:Hello All\, \nIt’s time to continue the London Outer Orbital Path (LOOP) again from where we left off last time at Donkey Wood near Hatton Cross\, just east of Heathrow Airport. \nWe will go as far as West Drayton\, about 8 miles in all\, taking in Cranford with the remains of its house (ha-ha and stable-block) and church (if open)\, Stockley Park and a stretch of the Grand Union Canal along the way (no locks on this stretch\, so no need to bring your windlass handle with you!). \nPlease meet me by 11am at Hatton Cross station (combined bus and u/ground) in the main hall (there’s only one) for an 11.15am departure. \nThere are many different opinions of how to get there\, so I am leaving it to you to decide how to get there! I think it’s all ‘6 or 2 threes’ in the end. I shall be going by the SL7 bus from Sutton leaving there between about 9 and 9.15am – I am going deliberately early\, and if there’s time I’ll go through to Heathrow first to make use of the facilities and then tube back to Hatton Cross. \nAn option from Croydon is the SL7 bus: \nWest Croydon bus station\, stop B3 at  9.22 \nDingwall Road / East Croydon\, stop E8 at 9.28 \nReturning from West Drayton will again be up to you depending on where you want to get back to. I shall be catching the Elizabeth Line to Paddington and u/ground to Victoria and so on. \nAnd while we are talking about Transport: I was not aware until very recently (and found out quite by chance a few weeks ago!) that the one day LONDON TRAVELCARD has been reinstated\, some time ago\, in fact\, but it wasn’t well publicised…almost as if they don’t want people to know about it. Depending on what you’re doing it’s much cheaper to get this card (especially if you are doing lots of different journeys on trains and tubes\, etc) and – if you use any discount card you have – it can be as little as £10.40! So go shout it from the rooftops!! Or am I just the last person to know about it?! \nI should bring some food and drink with you\, but there are shops along the way and \, I believe\, a cafe at Stockley Park golf club open to all. \nHave I forgotten anything? Date\, time\, place\, minor rant – that should do it! \n  \nPAUL. 07968 223589 \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Winter Amble - local walk
DESCRIPTION:Join copsers for a Winter ambulation around a bit of East Surrey on Sunday 29 December 2024.   12km / 7.5 miles.  Warlingham to Oxted.  Bus out.  Train back. \nMeet at the 403 bus stop outside Fairfield Halls at 9.40am prompt. \nWe catch the 403 bus to the end of its route at Sainsbury’s Warlingham.  Around 3pm to 4pm I expect we will reach the Wetherspoon pub at Oxted having walked over the North Downs.   Bring snacks for the way. \nThis is a link to the route in OS Maps all: \nhttps://explore.osmaps.com/route/24457363/20241219-cope-winter-amble?lat=51.282854&lon=-0.044900&zoom=11.8600&style=Leisure&type=2d \nRoute subject to variation. \nAfter around 2.5 hours and 10kms we call at The Bull Limpsfield\, for drinks\, (might allow you chips!  Even a meal if seems possible but I’m not booking anything).  Then a couple more kms to the Wetherspoons Oxted which is next to the station.  Optional stop there.  All sorts of dink and food available. \nNote there will be some muddy and steep paths.  Walking boots highly recommended plus sensible outdoor attire.  No jeans or trainers. \nOn the way we hope to encounter some North Downs Elves\, whom I am led to believe\, dispense mulled wine and mince pies on adventurous amblers on a Yuletide walk.   But bring some snacks and drink of your own as they are elusive. \n  \nAndrew \n07985 936953 \n

DESCRIPTION:Hello Copsers \nI will be leading a walk of about 7 – 8 miles from either Hever or Cowden\, ending up at Hever Towers in Edenbridge for Mulled wine and mince pies.  From Croydon\, you will need to catch the 09.23 train to Uckfield\, alighting at either Hever or Cowden – I will finalise the route depending on the likely mud levels (it will be muddy). \nAs we are supposed to be an Outdoor Pursuits Group\, please don’t turn up just for free food and booze – you have to earn it by doing the walk! \nPlease check your e-mails next week for final details\, also can you let Linda know if you are likely to attend. \nTim

SUMMARY:London Loop from Kingston Bridge
DESCRIPTION:I shall be doing the next stage of the LOOP* this SUNDAY November 10th\, 2024\, continuing from where we left off at Kingston Bridge and hopefully getting as far as Donkey Wood\, not far from Hatton Cross. The route goes via Bushy Park\, and later follows the River Crane for much of the remaining walk\, with its remnants of gunpowder production (appropriate for this time of the year). It will be up to ten miles of walking\, but you can leave near to Fulwell Rail Stn (to come back via Clapham Junction) if you wish\, as well as about two thirds through by a bus service back to Kingston. \nCould well be muddy and wet in places\, but things are draining away and drying out after a few weeks of hardly any rain. Bring some grub and drink\, but there will be at least one cafe along the way. \nHow to get there:\nCatch the 09.13am SL7 bus from East Croydon to Kingston (Wood Street stop\, NOT the Kingston bus station). \nThis bus does not go from East Croydon bus station\, but from around the corner from the rail station in Dingwall Road\, stop E8 (literally 2 mins walk). Please be on the bus from there\, and I shall jump on the bus at Sutton (failing that I’ll wait at the WOOD STREET\, KINGSTON stop). \nI hope this is not too early – you caught a bus at a similar time last time without being aware of it (allowing for the trick of BST!!). \nIf we get all the way to Donkey Wood\, we shall walk to Hatton Cross\, where one can get the tube back to a terminal for trains to East Croydon\, BUT the SL7 stops at Hatton Cross\, so you may be better catching this and returning to East Croydon by this express bus service (the same bus you used on the way out\, of course). \n  \nPaul NEWBOLD – 07968 223589. \nNo emails on the day\, as I won’t see ’em till I get back! \n  \n*the LOOP is the London Outer Orbital Path\, a 150-mile-long foot trail around London following parks and green spaces\, rivers and suburban areas in an Odyssey where you never quite know who you’ll encounter or what may happen (a bit of a microcosm for life in general!).

SUMMARY:Sunday Walk with Pepys – Stroll 3 – a Night Out!
DESCRIPTION:This is the walk originally scheduled for 21st September but postponed due to sickness.\nWe were all so impressed with the Pepys Walk last December that we did a Second Instalment in February. If it’s worth doing\, it’s worth flogging to death\, so here we are for a third go.\n  \n\n\nWhere?\nAgain we’ll be following the 17th Century footsteps of Samuel Pepys\, this time seeking out the many places he went to for a good night out – of which he was an enthusiast. Again I’ll be your amateur guide\, book in hand\, pointing out the connections to Pepys on the way. No doubt other COPSErs will continue to persist in offering their own observations! \nThis will be an easy 3-4 hour walk along pavements (boots not required) for about 5-6 miles\, ending with an optional beer or two at a historic tavern that also serves food. As it’s in central London\, there’s plenty of access to public transport if you want to leave the walk early. \nGetting there\nI’ll be catching the 11.15 East Croydon Platform 4 to Victoria\, then tube from Victoria to St James’s Park (District & Circle line) to save a bit of walking at the start. \nJoining opportunities: \n\n\n\n\n\nEast Croydon station from 11.00\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/dock.jars.folds\n\n\n\n\nAt Victoria station from our scheduled arrival time about 11.33\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/gladiators.zooms.sweep\n\n\n\n\nAt the entrance to St James’ Park\, junction of The Mall with Marlborough Road\, where we start the walk\, from our expected arrival time about 11.45-12.00\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/pool.shrimp.linked\n\n\n\n  \nCall me (number below) if any difficulty joining up. \nFinishing\nWe finish in The Borough\, handy for London Bridge station and a couple of interesting pubs. SUMMARY:London Loop (Nonsuch Park to Kingston)
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to continue the London Outer Orbital Path from last spring. This is a 150 mile long trail around London linking together parks\, meadows\, woodland\, rivers and streams\, and some suburban streets in a kind of Odyssey. \nWe shall continue from where we left off in Nonsuch Park and should reasonably expect to get to Kingston\, a distance of around 8 to 10 miles (with all the little add-ons)\, but it’s possible to leave at some points by bus or train\, should you wish to. \nWe shall pass the site of Henry VIII’s Nonsuch Palace (nothing left above ground now\, of  course)\, likely make a short visit to the Bourne Hall Museum in Ewell\, and then largely follow the Hogs Mill stream/river path to Kingston. Kingston is a good place to finish before embarking later on in the year on the first part of the LOOP north of the Thames. \nFairly straightforward topography most of the way\, with no serious hills (as far as I recall!). \nBuses and trains back from Kingston – train via Clapham Junction\, or maybe better to get the SL7 express bus back to West Croydon. \n  \nHOW TO GET THERE!\nPlease catch a SL7 express Heathrow bus from WEST Croydon bus station\, stop B3\, and alight/get off at CHEAM VILLAGE\, THE BROADWAY. There’s a bus at 10.08 BST\, and I shall meet that bus at around 10.45 at that stop in Cheam. \nAlternatively\, you can catch the bus a few minutes later at East Croydon\, stop E8 in Dingwall Road. \nWe then walk across Cheam Park to reach the point at which we left-off the LOOP six months ago. (If you don’t mind I’ll meet you at Cheam rather than Croydon\, as it’s easier to get there from where I live.) One could get to Cheam by train\, as long as you get to that bus stop for 10.45 please. \nAny queries\, phone me. DO NOT EMAIL ME AFTER 11.59pm on Friday – I don’t have email ‘on the go’. \nBring your usual supplies\, but there may be one or two cafes and pubs along the way\, and certainly at Kingston. \n  \nYours\, Paul Newbold \nTel. 07968 223589

He was a man on the rise with connections to politics and royalty\, but determined to enjoy life with visits to taverns and theatres\, domestic life with his French wife\, and furtive dalliances with a variety of disreputable ladies. \nGetting there\nI’ll be catching the 10.15 East Croydon Platform 4 to Victoria. \nJoining opportunities: \n\n\n\n\n\nEast Croydon station from 10.00\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/dock.jars.folds\n\n\n\n\nAt Victoria station from our scheduled arrival time about 10.32\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/gladiators.zooms.sweep\n\n\n\n\nAt the entrance to St James’ Park\, junction of The Mall with Marlborough Road\, where we start the walk\, from our expected arrival time about 10.45-11.00\n\n\nhttps://w3w.co/pool.shrimp.linked\n\n\n\n  \nCall me (number below) if any difficulty joining up. \nFinishing\nWe finish in The Borough\, handy for London Bridge station and a couple of interesting pubs. I’ll be shooting off to see the mighty Palace crush Man U (kickoff 17.00). SUMMARY:Repeat Upper Centre leg of "Now 90!" Croydon Green Spaces Challenge Walk
DESCRIPTION:This is another opportunity to walk the Upper Centre leg of the Green Spaces Challenge Walk. \nThis walk will form part of COPSE’s 90th anniversary Challenge\, overall visiting\, appropriately enough\, a total of 90 of Croydon’s green spaces. On this occasion we’ll focus on those in the Upper Central parts of the Borough. \nFull details of the Challenge are at the bottom of this page. \nYou don’t have to take on the Challenge though\, you can just come along and enjoy the walk. \nTake your pick of the two options: a full day or a half day. \nThe Full Day \nSun 11 August – “upper centre” – approx. 15 miles across the upper belly/mid-section of Croydon from Addiscombe to Addington\, Shirley\, Lloyd Park\, the town centre and as far west as Waddon Ponds.  See indicative route map below.  Note there is a mid-point / lunch stop where it is convenient to leave / join the walk.  And the afternoon section passes many public transport options if you wish to leave before the end.\nBring plenty of food and drink with you.  There will be limited opportunities to top up but at the mid-point is a Harvester pub – that’s Addington Village.  Where we can pop in for a drink.  Possibly a bite to eat if there’s time – but don’t bank on it!  Towards the end of the walk we pass through the town centre and therefore shops for refreshments top up.  Andy Thompson (“Mapman”) will be leading the walk (I hope to join at the mid-point.)\n\n\n\nThe Morning Section\nFrom Addiscombe Tram Stop to Harvesters Cricketers\, Addington Village \nStart / meet at Addiscombe tram stop at 9am. That’s on the Elmers End / Beckenham Jct branch of the tram.  Note the early start.\n\nThe Afternoon Section\nFrom Harvesters Cricketers\, Addington Village to Duppas Hill. \nWe will be at the Harvesters Cricketers from approximately 1pm and plan to set off  an hour later. This midpoint/lunch point is close to Addington Village (interchange) tramstop. \nEnding\nAfternoon cessation: the afternoon route (and morning to a large extent) passes a number of bus routes and a tram stops so you can leave the walk conveniently before its end.  But please ensure you inform Andy\, the walk leader. \n\n \nSo What’s this Challenge?\nOver four three walks we will visit 90 green spaces.  Visit between 30 and 90 spaces and you will receive an award – bronze\, silver\, or gold for the full 90!  And you will have your achievements recognised at the “NOW 90!” Birthday event on Saturday 14 September. \n\n\n\n\nWhat\, Croydon has 90 green spaces?\nYep\, in fact 120 according to this map.\nClick it for full revelation!\n\n\n\n\n\n  \nWhat sort of walks?\nEach complete walk will be around 15 miles.  As they are local and near public transport\, it will be possible to join for part of the walk either at predetermined points or by arrangement.  Clock up as many green spaces as you can while enjoying Croydon’s outstanding open spaces and landscape. \nRoutes will include streets\, parks\, footpaths and lanes.  Good walking shoes should be adequate.  To be eligible to receive an award there will be a small administration fee of £1. \nWhen are they?\nCurrently the four five six walks’ dates are: \n\nSunday 14 July: North\nSunday 11 August: Upper Centre\nWednesday 21 August: repeat of North\nMonday 26 August (bank holiday): Lower Centre\nSunday 1 September: repeat of Upper Centre\nThursday 5 September: repeat of Lower Centre\n\nSo how do I start?\nJust turn up to any of the walks! \n\nAny questions / more information please contact me. \nAndrew Thynne \n07985 936953

SUMMARY:Coastal Walk from Norman's Bay to Hastings
DESCRIPTION:We will follow the coastline from Norman’s Bay to Hastings\, a distance of approximately 13km. \nHere follows an outline of what is planned and what you need to do to join me on this walk if you’re interested.\n\nI will be going by train to the coast and will alight at Norman’s Bay which is on the same line that goes on to Hastings. If you would like to join me\, I will be at the front of East Croydon station at 9.45 and we will catch the 10.02 Southern train to Hastings that should be leaving from platform 3. You will need to get a return to Hastings which will allow us to get out at Norman’s Bay and to return from Hastings.  At the moment\, ticket prices with a railcard are showing up on https://uk.trip.com/ at around 18 pounds.\n\nFrom Norman’s Bay\, the plan is to walk along the seafront towards Hastings for a distance of around 9 miles.  The tide will be high but we should be able to pass along the beach. I have done this walk before but the tide was not high at the time. It is mostly flat though we will be walking along shingle for part of the way. If you do not wish to do the whole distance there are options for catching the train prior to getting to Hastings.\n\nWe will be passing through Bexhill on the way where we will stop to visit the De La Warr Pavilion which has three art exhibitions on over the summer. https://www.dlwp.com/.  Food and drink will be available in Bexhill and in Hastings but depending on your personal needs you may need to carry water and additional food.\n\nIf you would like to meet us at Norman’s Bay or elsewhere\, please let me know. The train will be arriving at Norman’s Bay at 11.30. You can contact me on the day by phone. My number is 0750 284 8808.\n\nFingers crossed for good weather on the 4th.\n\nGreg
