Visitors Evening

Tuesday 25th June

We will be holding a special introductory evening for new visitors.   We would love you to come and meet us, to chat with more of our Members and to discover what COPSE can offer you.   We look forward to welcoming you at   South Croydon United Church hall, corner of Aberdeen & Heathfield Roads, CRO 1EQ (entrance to hall is In Heathfield Road). Visitors/New Member’s Walk & Cycle Ride

Sunday 30th June

For both the Sunday Ramble/Cycle Ride, meet @ 10.00am, by the war memorial, near old Town Hall, Katharine Street, CR9 1ET. Walkers catch 466 bus to The Fox pub, Coulsdon. (Alternatively, walkers could drive to that pub by 10.50 am.) Walkers will be led on a circular route in the lovely countryside around Coulsdon, totalling 5 to 6 miles. Evening Walk along Happy Valley, starts at 8PM

The walk is about three miles long.   Either meet at The Fox pub in Coulsdon at 8PM or catch the bus 466 from Croydon.   There is a bus at 7.21 opposite East Croydon station or you catch it any stops along the way.   A drink at the Fox Pub after the walk.

Day Out Bexhill on Sea

Saturday 13th July

A  day out by the seaside.   We plan to do a short walk and fish & chips on the beach with plenty of time to relax or play games in the afternoon.   Meet at East Croydon station at 9.45 to catch the direct train to Bexhill at 10.03 - return tickets with 1/3 off are available for £20.40

Beatles Themed Walk

Sunday 14th July

The walk starts where they really started in 1962 ie the Abbey Road Studios near St Johns Wood tube station and end where they last performed in 1969 on the roof of the Apple HQ which is near Piccadilly Circus. In between we’ll visit places where they lived, worked  and played in the Swinging Sixties - oh and where some of them got arrested! Salsa Lesson

Tuesday 16th July

Come along and join us for a Salsa lesson at 8.15pm this Tuesday.  The class is suitable for beginners.  Please wear flat shoes and clothing that will be comfortable to dance in. Our dance teacher for the evening is Ania. Ania is co-founder of Salsamania, which opened its doors at the South Norwood Polish Community centre in June of 2007. Walk to the Chiltern Hills

An outing to the Chiltern Hills, north of London, with a walk of varied terrain from Tring.   An easy journey from East Croydon using the Milton Keynes train.   Meet at 8.55 to catch the 9.10 train to Tring, arr 10.38. This train calls at all stations to Clapham Junction (9.40) so if you miss it at East Croydon, catch a fast train at 9.24 to Clapham Junc then go to platform 17.   Anyone in central London could…
