SUMMARY:Bentley to Farnham Walk & Wild Swimming
DESCRIPTION:This is a 13 mile walk with a swim at Great Frensham pond.  The pond looks natural but is artificial\, it was dug out in the Middle Ages for the Bishop of Windsor as a fish pond.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe meet at 0915 for the 0934 to Clapham Junction arriving at 0944.  We then catch the 10.00 to Bentley arriving at 11.02.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe walk though a forest and then pick up the Shipwrights way path.  We then continue to our lunch stop at Frensham Great pond\, here you can swim\, I am hopeful the pond is not too dry for a full swim. \n\n\nI have been told that the pond can dry out in Summer\, a paddle is still possible.  \n\n\nThere is a cafe here too\, where we can get a meal.  Dogs are welcome.\n\n\n \n\n\nWe then continue to Farnham on the second part of our walk\, we pass Moor Park House which is not open to the public\, it does have a notice board.  We also see the remains of a WW2 pilbox.\n\n\n \nThe trains from Farnham run every half an hour on our return journey.

The return is from Littlehampton so buy a return ticket to Littlehampton.  The walk includes an invite to a buffet tea at Anne’s in Rustington\, so please bring a change of footwear.

DESCRIPTION:If you enjoy films and love Croydon then this walk is a perfect cocktail\, making a fun evening out\, visiting film locations and following up with a show of Croydon based film clips.  The walk starts at 7pm\, in St George’s Walk\, at the junction by the Alchemy Bar and the Roti Masters cafe. \nOver the years Croydon town centre has featured in many Films and TV Shows.  During the Croydonites festival earlier this year\, Richard DeDomenici gave a tour of the Croydon Film Locations as part of the première of American Assassin: Redux on 18 May 2018. \nAfter learning about Richard’s amazing work\, and enjoying the tour and the clips so much\, we organised another walking tour with help from Richard DeDomenici and the Croydonites Festival organisers. \nThe walk visits many sites in Croydon used as film locations. After the walk we will be screening clips from these films just off South End at the South United Church Hall\, Heathfield Road\, Croydon\, CR0 1EQ\, doors open 8:30pm\, show starts 9pm.  (Our usual Club Night venue.) \nThe walk starts at 7pm\, in St George’s Walk\, at the junction by the Alchemy Bar and the Roti Masters cafe. St Georges Walk has been used in many films and TV shows\, and also re-used in Richard DeDomenici’s “American Assassin: Redux”. DESCRIPTION:Meet at East Croydon at 0940 for 0953 train to Emsworth.  10 miles around an MOD owned island.\nThis Island was used by the RAF in 1935\, in 1984 it was taken over by the Army and is today a base for the Royal Artillery Regiment.\nIt’s a mix of open grass land and reed beds.\nThe site has a mix of ornithology we could see short eared howls and other bird life.\nThere is a chance to see the church\, this is kept locked.\nWe will stop at the yacht club for lunch\, you can get a drink and rest here.\nThis is a great day out and is not to be missed.\nDogs welcome.

DESCRIPTION:A hostel weekend away in Derbyshire on the edge of the Peak District National Park. We will be staying at the Glenorchy Centre\, a Grade II Listed building located in a conservation area in Wirksworth. \nWirksworth is an historic market town with access to spectacular countryside. The Cromford & High Peak trail\, Arkwright Mills and the Cromford canal are not far away. The town is well supplied with shops selling anything from clothes to locally-produced food\, fair-trade presents to books\, and antiques to old-fashioned sweets. \nWe have booked the whole hostel\, and with 26 beds\, there is plenty of room. It has all the usual facilities\, including bed linen. \nPublic transport is by E. Midlands trains\, from St. Pancras to Derby and then by bus to Wirksworth. \nThe accommodation will cost will arond £35.00 if we get about 20 people and catering would be about £10-£12 payable on the day.

SUMMARY:Norfolk Camping
DESCRIPTION:The great Copse midsummer camping extravaganza 2018 runs for a week on the North Norfolk coast\, in Mundesley on Sea\, from Saturday 16th to Sunday 24th of June. \nThe COPSE Camping Extravaganza offers something for everyone. We recommend you book a week off\, assemble some camping kit\, and get ready for a great little adventure. No passport or foreign exchange needed\, all it takes is £7 per person per night\, making the full 8 night package a snip at £56 + transport\, subsistence and wild times. \nThe name “Links Caravan Park” is a cunning ruse to disguise the camping field next door and keep it exclusive. There is a level grass camping field with marked pitches. The soil is sandy\, so it drains well. Never had any trouble with bugs. There is a water tap in the camping field. Over the lane in the caravan park is the wash house\, the warden and some mainly static caravans. The site is on a four lane crossing\, with almost no traffic apart from golfers. It’s a short quiet lane and path to all of the bright lights of Mundesley. These include a post office\, greengrocer\, pharmacy\, cafes\, pubs\, hotels and more. There are several routes to the beach. Footpaths also lead in many other directions\, directly from the camp site. There are options for electric hook up on most of the camping pitches\, particularly handy for electric kettle and phone charging. There is a free wifi internet service around the site. \nThe weather will dictate exactly what we do and when we do it\, but these range from walks\, cycle rides\,boating and birding on the Norfolk Broads\, and beach days.

SUMMARY:London Open Gardens
DESCRIPTION:London opens it’s often inaccessable and rarely open gardens to the public. Always good fun as we travel from garden to garden using the best form of public transport available (almost a geek’s tour!). Beware\, lots of walking involved too. \nWe will put together a rough itinerary to make best use of our time and try to vary the gardens we visit. There are often oportunites to pick up food from stalls for lunch\, but would advise bringing something to eat with you. There may be an opportunity to stop in London for a meal in the evening. \nIf you want to come you can buy your ticket online for £15.00. If you buy it on the day it is £20.00.
