Our cyclists’ recent trip down the Wandle took them into Merton Abbey Mills. While there they were so impressed by John Hawks and his knowledge of, and enthusiasm for, the history and importance of the Abbey Mills that they recommended him for a COPSE evening.

So here he is, ready to educate and entertain us with a short film and talk. In his words, “Merton Priory is the plum feature of Merton Abbey Mills, and while I could certainly go on for hours about the Mills (which was the historic Liberty silk printing works before we turned it into a craft market) I think the Priory is even more interesting, and we can start by showing the 15 minute film about it!”
