Walking the Camino de Santiago

Tuesday 20th May @ 8:15 pm to 10:00 pm

Another highly recommended talk for our education and entertainment!

Some of us have walked at least part of the Camino, and more of us would like to! Trevor Meadowcroft has done it and he’ll be here to tell the tale. He’ll talk about the walk he did a year ago and fill us in on the history and context along the way.

What’s the Camino de Santiago?

Wikipedia tells me it’s a network of pilgrims’ ways or pilgrimages leading to the shrine of the apostle James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in northwestern Spain, where tradition holds that the remains of the apostle are buried. Pilgrims follow its routes as a form of spiritual path or retreat for their spiritual growth. It is also popular with hikers, cyclists, and organized tour groups.
