A full day out starting with a walk.

Meet at East Croydon station at 9.30 for the 9.46 to Clapham Junction, changing there for the 10.09 to Guildford, arriving there at 10.40.

The day involves a canal-side walk of about five miles,  a stop at the National Trust’s award-winning Visitor Centre at Dapdune Wharf (where cakes, coffees etc. can be bought!) and an afternoon performance by the Will Shackleton Band at the bandstand in the beautiful park setting, right beside the River Wey in Godalming.

Bring your own picnic or you can stock up at the Waitrose store near to the park.

The lead musician is accomplished in jazz (he has played at Ronnie Scotts) and rock (having been a guitarist with Phil Collins and played keyboard with Eric Clapton).  His performances might have folk and blues thrown in and he is acclaimed as a singer/songwriter.
