West Norwood Feast, St Luke’s Church and Horns Tavern

Sunday 4th October @ 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Dear all

On the 1st Sunday of each month from April to December there is a great event in West Norwood which is free to attend.
There is live music in two venues a few minutes walk from each other with some seating available at each of them and plenty of standing room. The word ‘feast’ relates to the huge variety of food available both for lunch and goodies to take home afterwards. There are also lots of lovely craft stalls where you may like to start your Xmas shopping! You will find a total of up to 100 stalls in total.
Whilst there I suggest we visit Charlie Chaplin’s church, St Luke’s, to see his piano and also take a pub break at the Horns Tavern which was Pizarro and his brother’s favourite watering hole. In case of rain food from the Feast can be eaten in the Tavern. For those who were unable to attend Keith’s walk last weekend there is also the chance to visit the famous graves in West Norwood cemetery.
I suggest we meet at the same bus stop in Croydon that Keith met at last weekend ie bus stop KD outside the former Nestle building from 11.15 with view to catching a 468 bus to West Norwood which takes c 30 minutes. The event is scheduled to run till 4pm but there will be pub/cafe options available if you want to stay out longer
